where it all began...
My name is Violeta.
To my friends, I´m Vio.
Even before I was born, my father carried another name for me in his heart: Victoria.
My mother chose Violeta instead.
Many years later, I learned about the name my father had wished for me.
At a time when our relationship was particularly intense, I found myself wanted to change my name to Victoria.
I never did.
Instead, something took shape that felt even more personal to me: VICtoria.
VIC is more than just an artist name to me.
It connects my own identity with my father's story.
Because he was the one who introduced me to art.
He was the one who showed me what was within me.
MY SIGNATURE. MY CONNECTION.
MY STORY.
MY WORLD

what I see before I paint...
I don't just see with my eyes.
I perceive what lies behind it.
The inner self of a person,
even if you can't see it – I can feel it.
Sometimes it's just a glance.
A silhouette.
A movement.
A particular perspective.
Sometimes it's something completely ordinary.
Things that others might simply pass by can trigger
something in me.
Perhaps it's a story.
Perhaps a memory.
Perhaps it's just a feeling.
I can't always explain why something catches my
attention.
All I know is that sometimes it just won't let me go.
And that's exactly where a work begins for me.
Not on the canvas.
But long before that.
MY TRIAL

When a feeling becomes a work...
THE JOURNY IS
THE PATH TO
PERFECTION.
When I paint, I lose track of time.
I fully immerse myself in the process and allow myself to be drawn into what
emerges before me.
Not everything is predetermined.
I have an idea, but with every brushstroke
something can change.
I observe. I feel. I change. I let go again.
At some point, a dialogue develops between me and the work.
The image shows me what is needed – and sometimes
just as clearly what no longer belongs.
I'm not trying to force it into a predetermined form.
I give it space to develop and time to find its own expression.
to find one's own expression.
The journey is the destination to perfection.
For me, completeness does not mean perfection.
It arises in the moment when everything is just right
has found a place.
Sometimes this path takes a long time.
My first major work kept me company for two years.
Not because I didn't know how to finish it.
– but because I felt it wasn't finished yet.
And then at some point that special moment arrives:
The work falls silent.
Not because there is no more movement.
But because nothing is missing anymore.
I AM NOT LOOKING FOR OUTWARD PERFECTION.
I'M LOOKING FOR A STATE THAT
FEELS COMPLETE TO ME.
THE ENCOUNTER
I don't just paint to show something.
I want to make something tangible.
A work of art should touch you without me telling you
what to see in it.
Perhaps you'll recognize something familiar.
Perhaps an image will remind you of something that has
long been inside you.
Perhaps it simply triggers a feeling that you can't
immediately put into words.
What you discover in my art is yours.
Because everyone sees things through their own story.
And perhaps that's precisely why something remains.
A feeling that lingers long after you've moved on.
Because when a work of art touches you and you can't
quite let it go,
My art has fulfilled its purpose.
